Summary

The foundation Sense and Sensibility supports the abandoned children and foster families at need.

Foundation Sense and Sensibility assist the abandoned children to live a normal childhood. We are convinced that any institutional home does not represent a real home for the child. Therefore we support foster families that are the only opportunity for most of the abandoned children how to get their own family and normal home. These families takes care of children who would otherwise never know the meaning of the words „ my home “. Many times these children are handicapped, physically or mentally, but it could be also older children or children of other nationality than Czech.

The activities of our foundation are ruled by four principles:

Individual knowledge of each case
Concrete assistance for concrete family
Transparent accounting procedures and records

Sense and Sensibility Foundation support foster families which:

need to create the condition for accommodating another child
need resources to cope with increase expenditure due to fact they accommodate higher number of children.
want to create a permanent home for the adult children

Our foundation also support foster families with other types of assistance. We assist the families with financial resources to reconstruct or enlarge their homes, to provide special health devices for handicapped children, to provide barrierless entry to their homes, to provide equipment of children rooms, to pay a personal assistant to disabled children. We organize meetings of foster families (three times a year), once a month we arrange a creative workshop for children from foster families, which is based on methods of artetherapy

We have supported 315 foster families with the total amount of 11,500,000.- CZK up today!

It is our believe that if there exists a link between the Sense and Sensibility of people like you and us there exists a chance for abandoned children to live and experience an ordinary happiness of family life!
